The Nordisk Ven 2.5 is a lightweight, comfortable and compact self inflating mat with zone construction and a push/pull valve.
Ven 2.5 is the uncompromising choice when weight and pack size is key. Weighing a mere 280 grams with a pack size of only 10 x 28 cm it offers the basic protection you need when you have to leave all redundant gear behind. The length has been cut to a minimum to provide coverage to only the most critical parts of your body and the hybrid foam zone construction only supports where it is really needed. The filling is a special ultra light weight foam which shaves off a few grams more making Ven very attractive for extreme outdoor enthusiasts and gram hunters. The push/pull valve makes it easy and quick to both in- and deflate.
The Nordisk Ven 2.5 is an ultralight short length sleeping mat, designed to provide support and coverage to the parts of the body which need insulation in the night. Short length mats are not everyone's favourite, but they're ideal for trips when a low weight and pack size is important.

From 2020, there is a new industry standard for measuring the R-value (level of insulation) of sleeping mats – ASTM F3340-18. This new standard is the sleeping mat equivalent to the EN rating for sleeping bags.
You can now directly compare the R-value of mats rated using the ASTM F3340-18 with confidence that is a fair and accurate comparison between mats. In simple terms, the higher the R-value, the warmer the mat.
In general terms, an R-value below 2.0 is for summer use, 2.0 to 4.0 is for cooler 3 season use and 4.0+ is for winter temperatures. This will be also be dependent on your sleeping bag, how cold you sleep etc. Please contact our customer service team if you need advice on choosing the right mat for your activity.
