Our V series Mimic Hood is filled with Mimic Platinum, a high performance Insulation Type. It also contains graphene to conduct your body heat and spread it throughout the garment. It's lined with a breathable fabric with superb moisture management properties. The surface is wind and water resistant and treated with a fluorocarbon free DWR to repel water and dirt. This combination enhances wearing comfort and gives the best warmth to weight – making this jacket ideal for cold mountain activities.
Our Verdict
Haglofs' V Series Mimic Hooded Jacket is a seriously impressive piece of kit. The combination of cutting edge technology and fabrics makes this jacket stand out. The Mimic insulation has had an overhaul in this Platinum version with the use of Ultracluster Graphene used to boost the performance by conducting your body heat. The addition of Gore Infinium for the lining means that you get a fully windproof, highly water resistant and breathable jacket that has worked well in changeable autumn/winter conditions.
In terms of practical features there are good sized hand pockets and a decent chest pocket. The hood has some adjustability but the peak is particularly impressive. The zips are definitely on the chunky (heavier) side but they should be very durable.
