The Berghaus Trail Explorer Pants offer great comfort, flexibility, and durability, making them a dependable companion for year-round hiking and outdoor activities.
From my time using these trousers, the four-way stretch softshell fabric stands out—it allows for effortless movement on steep climbs and uneven terrain. They’re lightweight at 460g (size M) and feel robust enough to handle scraping against rocks or brush. The PFC-free DWR coating repels light rain well, although I wouldn’t rely on them in a downpour.
The integrated belt is a practical addition, providing a secure and adjustable fit, though the absence of additional belt loops limits the option to swap it. Meanwhile, the lower leg zips are well-considered, allowing for effortless adjustments over boots.
