It is waterproof, windproof, has taped seams and is designed to reflect up to 90% of body heat. It performs brilliantly no matter what the conditions are like. The additional features included in this emergency bivy are a rescue whistle and a tinder cord for lighting fires which is used on the stuff sack. These are excellent extras that can make a huge difference in an emergency with a minimal weight penalty for their inclusion.
