The durable 30D polyester ripstop is made of 100% post-consumer recycled materials that conform to the body and have a great feel. Our custom Laylow™ zero-profile, multi-functional valves, combined with our included Vortex™ pump sack, allow you to inflate and deflate quickly and easily make micro adjustments for maximum comfort.
Our Verdict
Nemo's Quasar 3D has a focus on providing the most comfortable sleeping mat for a good nights sleep. The impressive 9cm depth provides a really nice amount of cushioning while the dimensions are generous enough to support side sleepers and wrigglers alike. The curved, horizontal baffles do a great job of supporting you and keeping you centered. An easy to use valve combined with Vortex pump sack make for quick and easy inflation and deflation.
The use of 100% recycled materials is an excellent move from Nemo and they have backed this up with Bluesign production making for a very environmentally sound piece of kit. Although the Quasar is not the lightest weight mat out there it does offer an impressive level of comfort in a good value package. This non-insulated version is best used in summer and for camping in milder conditions.

ASTM R-Value:
From 2020, there is a new industry standard for measuring the R-value (level of insulation) of sleeping mats – ASTM F3340-18. This new standard is the sleeping mat equivalent to the EN rating for sleeping bags.
You can now directly compare the R-value of mats rated using the ASTM F3340-18 with confidence that is a fair and accurate comparison between mats. In simple terms, the higher the R-value, the warmer the mat.
In general terms, an R-value below 2.0 is for summer use, 2.0 to 4.0 is for cooler 3 season use and 4.0+ is for winter temperatures. This will be also be dependent on your sleeping bag, how cold you sleep etc. Please contact our customer service team if you need advice on choosing the right mat for your activity.
