These ultralight waterproof pants are the perfect emergency waterproof pants for the stripped back mountain runner travelling far, fast, and super light.

Built with waterproof and breathable 7D, 2.5-layer Pertex® Shield and ultralight taped seams, they’re quiet to wear, soft to touch and ultra-packable, compressing down into a palm sized stuff sack.
The Phantom Pants offer an unrestricted range of movement with pre-curved knees optimised for running, stretch, a slim-fit, and not an ounce of unnecessary fabric. The waistband is part elasticated with a drawcord adjuster to perfect the fit and the lower leg hem has a snap fastener with hook and loop, for easy on/off pull over trail shoes.
Our Verdict
The Phantom Pants are designed to meet the needs of those looking for a super lightweight over-trousers that will take up minimal space, for those unexpected downpours.
The 20,000mm hydro static head is excellent for their weight and means that they are an excellent choice to meet the kit list requirements of mountain and trail races where weight and size are important.
However, they are definitely designed with emergency us in mind as due to the lightweight Pertex fabric that while offering manoeuvrability they sacrifice durability so are limited in their use and for standard hikes and treks may suffer from abrasion damage quicker than a standard over-trouser.
