The Halo down Jacket has an exceptional warmth to weight ratio due to using the highest quality down which is protected by a down proof water resistant outer.
The Halo jacket was our original super-lightweight down jacket; a ground-breaking style that in 2008 heralded the advent of a new category. We recognised the need for an insulating layer that was light enough to stop you overheating when cranking out the watts, but warm enough to prevent overcooling when stopping for a breather. As for the insulating material itself, for crux there was simply no choice: it had to be down. Lighter and less bulky than synthetic fills, not to mention longer-lasting and natural, down gives you real freedom of movement as well as warmth..
We updated the Halo jacket by switching to a water-resistant Pertex Endurance shell, an integral hood design and a slimmer, longer cut. What remains unchanged, however, is the Halo’s market-leading 900 cu.in Polish down fill.
The down used in the Crux's Halo Down Jacket has a impressively high fill power. This gives an unbeatable warmth to weight ratio and with a respectable 135g of down in the jacket it really is very warm. The jacket has a stitch through baffle construction with 2 handwarmer pockets and a decent sized inside chest pocket.
The hood is close fitting and elasticated though without any adjustment to save weight. Similarly the cuffs are elasticated to help keep the cold out. The Pertex Endurance shell provides weather resistance and means the down will remain in the jacket keeping you toasty.
