The Direkt Gauntlet are a dexterous and close fitting softshell glove with a warm fleece lining. Designed to meet the needs of the winter climber, heavy duty leather is used in areas of most wear with the gauntlet providing extra protection.

The Direkt Gauntlet uses a stretch woven Soft Shell back and two part leather palm for durability with exceptional grip. A high loft fleece lining on the back of the hand maximises warmth whilst a microfleece palm lining ensures the best possible grip on ice tools and critical protection.
Our Verdict
Mountain Equipment's Direkt Gauntlet are a versatile glove built around durability and grip to meet the needs of the winter climber. High loft fleece lining provides decent warmth for the gloves weight and size. The tough Exolite softshell fabric makes the gloves wind proof and highly water resistant.The extended gauntlet does a good job of providing extra protection and makes it easy to pull on over jacket cuffs.
A mix of leather is used on the palm. The area of most wear around the thumb uses super tough Armotan Goatskin leather. The rest of the palm prioritises grip so you can save energy by not gripping your ice tools as hard.
