The Axis Alpha jacket is a superb insulation jacket - we love that Montane have put a breathable insulation where you are likely to sweat the most, and down on the front/core where you need insulation more.

Our Verdict
Montane's Axis Alpha Down Jacket is a real hybrid, there are down chambers on the front, sides and partially down the arms, elsewhere the insulation is Pertex Air, a supremely breathable insulation, and its all wrapped in Goretex Infinium which is windproof, highly breathable and highly water resistant. It has a technical hood with full adjustment, elasticated wrists and a drawcord hem.
We really like it because Montane have put the right insulation in the right places, less warmth where sweat could be generated.
