The Aeon LT 25 has on-harness walking pole attachment and stretchy side stash pockets, enabling quick access to kit for adapting to oncoming terrain or turbulent weather. It has an additional walking pole attachment on the front of the pack, a front stash pocket ideal for wet gear, and side compression straps to secure the contents. Hydration compatible with space for a 3L bladder, with zipped harness pockets for storing snacks, gels, or flasks, you can stay refreshed without needing to stop.
Our Verdict
The Aeon LT 25 part of the new additions to the Rab range in the light trail and mountain running category that brings down the weight but still offers all the space and features that you need.
The main focus of the Aeon range is to offer everything to hand so there is little need to take it off to get things out while on the move. This is a really cleaver concept that is facilitated with a large range of design features to allow you to get to everything you need quickly. There are handy pouches and pockets all over the shoulder straps and waist belts and Side of the bag, where you can store a range of different items from phones (although bigger ones may struggle to fit in the zip pocket), gels, water bottles, hats gloves and any other smaller items that you may need in a hurry. The LT 25 has a front storage pocket which is perfect for waterproofs or a mid-layer that needs to be accessed quickly. It also has some handy compression straps on the side for keeping everything in place while tackling steeper terrain
Other features include the double chest strap that really holds the shoulder straps in place well, the lightweight but breathable back system and the connections for walking poles on the back and sides of the rucksack. Although i did find the Z pole attachment to be a bit uncomfortable as it means that they sit right under your arms which wasn't the most comfortable.
